Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally happening, and fans all over the world have their expectations set on high. In fact, just after the announcement that it will be released, predictions on the game’s sales figures have started to come out. This is courtesy of Macquarie Securities analyst Ben Schachter who has released a note to investors that says the game will sell 12 million copies in just Take-Two’s second fiscal quarter next year. It runs from July until September.

Schachter also noted that Red Dead Redemption 2’s sales will definitely be boosted if it gets released for PC. He based it on sales from 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, which reached a total of 14 million copies in just a little over five years after it was launched.

We could actually see all these predicted numbers become reality. In just an hour after Red Dead Redemption 2 has been officially announced, its social media posts received thousands of responses. It got 54K likes and 61K retweets on Twitter, 152K likes and 52K comments on Facebook, and 65K likes on Instagram. These numbers only go to show how fans have been highly anticipating the game.

“We think this demonstrates significant pent-up demand and interest for the sequel,” said Schachter.
