De Game Developers Choice Awards hebben de genomineerden en Honorable Mentions voor 2026 bekendgemaakt, met Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 als absolute koploper.
De Game Developers Choice Awards hebben de lijst met genomineerden en Honorable Mentions voor de ceremonie van 2026 gedropt. De grote uitblinker dit jaar is Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, dat al flink wat awards en nominaties heeft binnengeharkt. En ja hoor, hij is weer terug in de race voor Game of the Year.
De genomineerden voor de Game Developers Choice Awards 2026
De 26e editie van de Game Developers Choice Awards vindt plaats op 12 maart, als onderdeel van het GDC Festival of Gaming in San Francisco. De ceremonie is toegankelijk voor GDC-pashouders, maar wordt ook wereldwijd gelivestreamd op het GDC Twitch-kanaal.
Alle genomineerden en winnaars komen uit games die vorig jaar zijn uitgebracht. Ze zijn geselecteerd door het International Choice Awards Network (ICAN), een panel op uitnodiging met gerenommeerde ontwikkelaars uit de hele industrie.
Naast de categorieën waar vakgenoten stemmen, heeft de GDCA ook een Audience Award. Hiermee krijgen fans de kans om de game te steunen die volgens hen de meeste impact had. Publieke stemming gaat open op 26 januari.
In tegenstelling tot veel andere awardshows in de industrie, die alleen een kleine groep finalisten erkennen, maakt de GDCA ook Honorable Mentions bekend. Daarmee worden games uitgelicht die net geen finalist zijn geworden, maar wel opvielen door hun topkwaliteit.
